Grand Central Station. When I arrive I know I'm home. I rush out as fast as I can to see the first view of the Chrysler Building. When I am waiting for a train, I sit and I watch everyone else rush as they ignore the beautiful marble and the astrological heavens painted above you. I think of the Vanderbilt family and the idea of building something. Not just something but something that stands the test of time. Like film noir and how when we watch it now, we still laugh at the jokes or feel the intensity during the serious scenes. I want to build something.

Fall sunshine. Picking apples. These are the things that take me back to childhood. I have a nostalgia to play and to bake with my sisters. I have a nostalgia to do less and watch more like when you are a child and you watch your mother peel the skin off the apples and cut them up. You watch her measure the sugar, the cinnamon, etc. The only thing you get to do is get your hands dirty by mixing it around before helping your mom pour it into pie crust. I miss that.
