Layering For Transitional Weather

On The Outfit: It can be so hard to dress these days where it's sunny and warm one minute then cool and chilly the next. Or it's chilly outside and the heat is blasting in the office. That's when layering actually becomes your best friend. I don't know if it's my obsession with all things Parisian or if it's just a nod back to a more classic look but I have been loving scarves lately. It feels really back to basics as scarves were the item I first learned to accessorize with.

Anyway, this is a basic concept. Layering without creating bulk. Black T-shirt dress, a knit sweater vest that CINCHES AT THE WAIST (very important to prevent bulk, a vintage Dior scarf, and then booties. Now, if I was in NYC I would probably need a pair of tights with this outfit but here in LA, I'm in the clear. I kept it clean with the hair and make-up. It's really simple and can be worn pretty much anywhere. If the dress was longer, it'd be a great look for work.

On My Mind: "Elegance is not standing out, but being remembered." I love this little quote from Armani and how true it is.
