Outfit: Crop tops are the way of life in LA but I've adjusted to it. I still feel like I'm half naked. It was super hot this weekend during the day so I opted for shorts. I love the idea of wearing loafers with jean shorts. It's very french. I just got this new vest at Erin Wasson's garage sale and I love it. It's a really great addition to any outfit.
On My Mind: Fashion is really defining. I know a lot of people especially men don't really think about this sentiment but it is. What you choose to put on your body says a lot about you. The other day, I ran into a friend at a restaurant wearing the weirdest outfit and I thought, God did you just give up on life. Fashion is really a place to celebrate. As Blair Waldorf once said, "Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, and architecture all in one. It shoes the world who we are and who we'd like to be." I think that's very true. Fashion is aspiration as defining. Recently, I've been finding myself leaning towards a more Parisian chic style. I think that's because I long for Paris and the life I had there. Plus I am reading two books about Paris. One of them being a novel I'm editing for a friend, the other being Caroline De Mairget and friend's new book, How to be Parisian Where ever You are. It is fantastic. I miss that. I'm definitely longing for a time of adventure, good food, romance, love, and style.
