I Reserve My Rights

I spent Saturday in Malibu for Will's birthday. A couple of friends got together for a lovely picnic and a beautiful day. We played in the water and sat on the beach talking until well past sunset. As I listened to the waves and stared at the moon, I realized how much freedom you allow yourself when you reserve the right to act however you want with no judgment.

I reserve my right to play on the beach. I reserve my right to be completely silly. I reserve my right to never take my life too seriously. I reserve my right to sneak a bottle of wine on the beach with my picnic. I reserve my right to good conversations and many laughs.

I reserve my right to find joy in moments even when my heart is hurting. I reserve my right to ocean therapy and to not think about it all for a little while.

I reserve my right to act like a kid. I reserve my right to kick around with no worries even though I have a mountain of them hiding somewhere in my brain.

I reserve the right to wear my favorite swimsuit as many times as I want without judgment. I reserve my right to not feel I have to wear a bikini to feel sexy. I reserve my right to not have to feel sexy.
