Aria Wine Bar, in the West Village, is one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan. I can't seem to get enough of their simple but oh-so-delicious gnocchi. Now, you can make homemade gnocchi from scratch but why make it more difficult when all I really want is a slice of Italian pasta magic at home? I bought fresh gluten-free gnocchi to simplify the process. If you want a homemade recipe, let me know and I will concoct one for all of you lovelies.
Let the gnocchi relax as the water boils. I take this time to do prep work like dicing up some yummy mozzarella.
Once the water is boiled, add the gnocchi, but keep a close eye as they cook. They're done once they float to the top. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them into a saucepan. It's your choice whether you want to fry up your gnocchi a bit because adding sauce, but I like to because I like a bit of a crunch on the final result.
Add your marinara sauce. Once the gnocchi is coated, transfer to a bowl and add your basil and mozzarella.
Great! All your work is done here. Now it's time to eat and enjoy!
